Mr. Yagnesh Vellore is a highly qualified Australian trained neurosurgeon, who treats all neurosurgical conditions. He takes a contemporary approach to neurosurgery and adopts the latest in neurosurgical skills and technology to ensure the best results for his patients.

Mr. Vellore graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical school in 2001.  Early surgical resident and non-accredited Neurosurgery registrar years were completed at The Alfred and Austin hospitals in Melbourne. During this time, he also conducted extensive research into Blunt Carotid and Vertebral artery injuries and published extensively on the subject. He subsequently entered the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons training program, during which he gained extensive experience in all aspects of Neurosurgery at Royal Hobart Hospital, The Alfred, St. Vincent’s and Royal Children’s hospitals in Melbourne. Mr. Vellore obtained his FRACS in Neurosurgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Mr. Vellore is up to date with the latest Neurosurgical technology including robotic spine surgery as well as stereotaxis for both brain and spine surgery. He utilises minimally invasive techniques when indicated. He performs a wide range of Neurosurgical procedures relating to the Brain, Spine and Peripheral Nerves.

Mr. Vellore frequently travels to The United States of America and Europe to collaborate with fellow international surgeons and develop new technology and techniques in Spine Surgery. He also participates regularly in Major Worldwide Spinal Surgery meetings to advance the body of knowledge available to other practitioners. Furthermore, Mr.Vellore is involved in designing newer Spinal prosthesis, which will benefit patients worldwise.

Mr. Vellore holds public appointments at the Austin and Northern Hospitals. He also operates at The Epworth Hospital Richmond, Cabrini Hospital Malvern, Knox Private Hospital Wantirna and The Valley Private Hospital Dandenong.

Teaching is one of Mr. Vellore’s passions and he is involved in the education of medical students, junior medical staff as well as allied health staff.
