Introduction

 

BR and CR Shetty Foundation is a registered non-profit, non-political, non-religious charitable trust that aims to support underprivileged people in the areas of education, health, poverty alleviation and community empowerment. DR. BR Shetty and family are the embodiment of generosity and humanity and have contributed immensely towards the welfare of society. Dr. Shetty has been a donor par excellence, reaching out not only to the Indian community, but to people from all walks of life, and many have been the beneficiaries of his charitable disposition.

 

Dr. Shetty believes that it’s society which nurtures you and it is your duty to give back to society.  Only when you share your success, does it multiply. The philanthropic activities of Dr. Shetty and family will be channelized through the foundation to have larger outreach and impact.

 

Objectives

 

  1. To broaden the academic opportunities of the marginalized communities through holistic approach wherein realization of each individual’s potential is achieved.
  2. To support the children from marginalized communities and to foster their careers through innovative educational initiatives.
  3. To provide basic health care support for the poor to overcome sufferings and lead a wholesome and healthy life.
  4. To contribute to the government’s community empowerment initiatives to reach out to the most disadvantaged in society and provide sustainable livelihood.
  5. To improve the standards of nutrition, health and sanitation through community outreach and awareness programs.
  6. To support the developmental organizations and policies which promote social justice and combat poverty.
  7. Eradication of poverty and unemployment through creation of basic social and economic infrastructure, provision of training to rural unemployed youth and providing employment to the less fortunate.
  8. To establish, maintain and run studentships, scholarships and render other kind of aid to students including supply of books, stipends, medals and other incentives to study, without any distinction as to caste colour, race, creed or sex.
  9. To help and develop special programs for the women and self-help groups.
