Trained in Surgery in the UK (London, Norwich and Cambridge), Fellowship in Minimal Access, HPB, Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery, Australia with George Fielding.
Research Fellowship in Pancreatic Surgery at University College, Los Angeles, USA with Professor Howard Reber

Appointed Consultant Surgeon, Kings College Hospital in 1999. Over the last 10 years has developed one of London's leading Bariatric Units, and developed minimal access HPB surgery, including laparoscopic liver and laparoscopic pancreatic resections

Continuing to push the boundaries of day case surgery, including laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic fundoplication and laparoscopic gastric band insertions

An expert in Laparoscopic Surgery, Mr Patel has performed well over 4000 laparoscopic procedures

Invited to perform live surgical demonstrations and present at National and International conferences
