The JUPITER (Justifying Patellar Instability Treatment by Early Results) Group was established as the first multi-center patellar instability study by principal investigators Dr. Beth Shubin Stein (Hospital for Special Surgery) and Dr. Shital Parikh (Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center). The goal of study is to determine which patients truly need an osteotomy (cutting or breaking a bone to realign it) and which patients who will do fine with less surgery.
