The Shackelford lab, located in the heart of UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine in Los Angeles, is focused on the development of effective strategies to improve the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. To more accurately study cancer metabolism in the context of the tumor environment, a range of technologies are employed including PET imaging, microscopy, mass spectrometry, and biochemistry to visually and functionally profile tumors as they progress and evolve during tumorigenesis.
